The Simply Help Foundation has donated one thousand two hundred toys to needy children in Saint Lucia. The Taiwanese Embassy facilitated a toy exchange between a US based Taiwanese charity and the government of Saint Lucia. An official handing over of these toys took place Thursday at the Prime Ministers Residence. The donation followed a request from Prime Minister Stephenson King to Taiwanese Ambassador Tom Chou.
The Prime Minister says he wanted to bring joy and cheer to the less fortunate children of Saint Lucia. The Simply Help Foundation was established six years ago. An NGO affiliated with the United Nations it has donated 80 containers of toys to more than 15 countries.Most of these donations were in Asia and South America. A newly formed Saint Lucian Foundation will twin with Simply Help to bring further charity to Saint Lucia. Headed by Louise King – it is called the Help Saint Lucia Foundation Inc. The donation includes toys like Shrek and Elmo as well as games and educational gadgets. A portion of them were given to the Salvation Army with the rest scheduled for distribution island-wide.
